Carti fires back at Kanye after backlash over his collaboration with Kim and North West.
On Wednesday, Carti posted a simple but direct response on X: “YE, STFU [shut the f*** up].”
This occurred a day after Playboi Carti reached out to Kim Kardashian, Kanye West’s ex-wife, expressing his desire to work with their 11-year-old daughter, North.
Carti wrote, “TELL MY NIECE NORTH TO SEND ME A SONG,” and tagged Kim in the post. Kim later shared it on her Instagram story.
Kanye, who is known for his raging online posts, quickly responded, mocking Playboi Carti on X.
He wrote, “HEY NORTH YOUR DAD GAVE ME MY BIGGEST SONG AND CO SIGN AND I LEFT HIM OFF OF MY ALBUM BECAUSE OF HIS TWEETS.”
He followed up with, “OH BUT NORTH YOU MY NIECE I GOTTA USE YOUR VOCALS.”
In another post, Kanye added, “I HELD MY TONGUE ABOUT MOT[sic] BEING ON CARTI ALBUM HIM GOING TO MY EX TO ASK MY DAUGHTER TO BE ON A SONG 2 DAYS LATER WAS TOO FAR NOBODY FINNA PLAY WITH ME.”
After Kanye’s new song, “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine,” featuring North West, Diddy, and King Combs, was released, the two artists’ hostility increased.
Kanye promoted the song in a post on X, stating, “LONELY ROADS STILL GO TO SUNSHINE new song by PUFF DADDY feat. His son KING COMBS my daughter NORTH WEST and new Yeezy artist from Chicago Jasmine Williams.”
Kanye also garnered media attention for allegedly speaking on the phone with Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is presently being held in federal custody.
Combs warns Kanye, “This s*** is wicked, wicked, wicked,” according to a recording made public by The Shade Room. Therefore, use caution,” and urging him to resume his musical endeavours.
West said, “Yeah, it’s time for me to grab the mic and get back [out there]. Music has returned to my heart. Everything was really annoying at one point. I have no idea how to describe it.“
The call ended with Combs telling Kanye to “jump in [his] bag” as they planned to fight their battles over the long term: “We gonna have years and decades to f***ing fight these motherf***ers.”
