Helen Hunt Lists $15 Million Spanish-Style Brentwood Home – A Stunning Celebrity Property
Helen Hunt, an actress, has advertised her Spanish-style Los Angeles property for $14.995 million and is selling it. Hunt, who gained notoriety for her part in Mad About You, purchased the property in 2001 because she wanted a house with “history and architectural integrity” instead of the conventional opulence of recently constructed palaces. Reflecting on her need for a home with personality, she wrote in an email, “Those were not for me.”

Hunt paid $4.62 million at the time for the property, which was constructed about 1931. This expansive 6,000-square-foot house is located in Brentwood Park, a community renowned for its blend of contemporary luxury and historic charm.

Hunt enjoys the home’s distinct characteristics, which include stone floors imported from France, stunning stucco walls, and famous archways. “Thick beautiful stucco, plaster walls, and glorious archways,” she explained, recalling what drew her to the house.

While the property is steeped in Hollywood history, having once been home to famed actress Greta Garbo in the 1930s, Hunt has also added her own stamp on it.

“I added a glass staircase that brings in natural light,” she explained. She also converted a studio space into an office with garden views and refurbished the pool house to serve as a suitable guest house.

The property’s welcoming atmosphere and feeling of charm have made it the perfect venue for everything from intimate family gatherings to grandiose events. “We’ve had huge holidays and parties with over 100 people,” Hunt told me. “We’ve had kids’ birthday parties with bouncy houses and elegant Tuscan-style dinners.”

Helen Hunt, who earned an Oscar for As Good as It Gets in 1998, has recently acted in Hacks and the play Betrayal, both in Chicago. Drew Fenton and Stephen Sigoloff from Carolwood Estates are handling the listing.

It’s an excellent opportunity for the next owner to create memorable memories in such a historic location.
